Fanatic 2008 New Wave
Action photos courtesy of PWA/John Carter
The board of choice for Victor Fernandez who has just won the last two PWA wave events in Guincho & Pozo. Sebastian Wenzel has refined the 2008 model with the following key changes;
- Very subtle difference is the bottom shape – there is now a double concave “inside” the monoconcave – this gives a lot more grip and allows you to change direction more easily, especially in onshore conditions when suddenly going upwind to jump at high speeds..or when bearing off down the line and you change direction to hit the lip in a better place
- There is also a wider tail and thinner rails serving to assist in overall control and direction.
The three boards in the range are slightly shorter than last year’s models but retain the same width, with a one litre volume increase on each size.
Overall the boards aim to offer better all-round performance than the 07 models with improved control, grip, early planing and flexibility in the turn.

Fanatic are also launching their New Wave Team Edition board with a FULL Technora Kevlar bottom lay up and a unique optic with a white base colour fading out into metallic silver rails, all in ultra light finish. The result is a weight saving of 0.5kg and one of the sexiest waveboards on the planet! (All shape, features and fittings of the Team Edition remain the same as the NewWave model) |
