Goya Boards 2009: Wave & Freestyle collection

Boardseeker Test Team
Here is the 2009 wave and freestyle boards from the hands of Francisco Goya and his Team.
The board shape has changed across all three ranges and we leave Goya to explain what they have done:
Goya: “The 2009 line is the ultimate progression in CNC shape, precisely blending the advantages of the Panel V bottom with the Single & Double Concave characteristics. We put the Panel V in the front section and the tail, resulting in a smooth and fast ride making sailing through chop fun! In between the mast track and the tail we’re blending into a Double & Single Concave bottom to give you the most possible rail control & dynamics”
‘Progressive Rocker Concept’
Goya: We are using individual rockers for each board so that the smaller boards have the most control and quickest reaction, the medium sized boards have slightly more drive and the larger sizes have all the speed, early planing and power you need for light winds or heavier riders. The consistent flow that comes with shorter boards naturally brings more volume underneath your feet, so it might be worth trying smaller sizes than you’d usually go for.
Goya: No change to the light weight and strong construction of our boards but in the footstrap area the reinforcements are more developed and gradually become lighter towards the front creating a superb, light nose feeling. Pick up a Goya board by the front strap and feel the difference.
Key Points for 09: More sizes and a different rocker for each size to give early planing and make turning easier (Goya call it their ‘Progressive Rocker Concept’). Plus the deck pads and foot straps have been improved for a more comfortable and tuneable fit.
Key Points for 09: A larger model (105litres) in the range and new shapes all round. Like the Custom wave, the ‘Progressive Rocker Concept’ has been used to give a different rocker for each size. Deckpads and footstraps also improved.
Key Points for 09: Increased tail bevel for reverse sliding tricks, an extended flat section on the deck for more direct feel through your feet, more ‘popability’, clean and sharp edges, super light construction and customized inserts for footstraps.
The 2009 Boards will be available in the next few weeks so contact your nearest retailer to place an order!
