Improve the strength and reduce the weight – that was the aim for the Goya Wave 3D sail. The Goya designers also wanted more low end power (get you going earlier) and better high end control (a sail that spills power easily when you’re maxed). These two attributes would seem to contradict each other but Goya sails reckon this sail has both. We asked Goya Team rider Chris Murray what he thinks about the Wave 3D.

Chris: The sail is smooth, flowing and crisp which creates a balance throughout wave and freestyle manoeuvres. There is a consistent low end power which I found really helped me keep the power/speed on during wave riding. The sail is very hard wearing and strong and you can visibly see and feel the solid construction. On my winter trip to Maui I went over the rocks at Ho’okipa a number of times and the sails are all still intact, which is a great test! It is a truly quality sail, well worth parting with your hard earned money for.

Features

  • Hollow Leech: With more surface area given to the foot of the sail it creates a ‘twisty hollow leech’ making the sail feel lighter than previous models.

  • Mast Sleeve White Print: This closes the cloth fibres to make the mast sleeve stronger at vulnerable points.

  • Thermoform foot protector: This nylon covered foot protector will protect in from the abrasion anti slip on your board.

Construction

Full panel x-ply which means less stitching, less holes and therefore less weak points in the sail.
