Naish Wave Hybrid 2005: 1 board
Now this is the shortest (214cm), fattest (59cm), most compact wave board we have ever seen! It really will catch your eye. So short that it will fit into a normal sized car, we couldn't believe that Jan Sleigh, weighing in at 90kg, was sailing this as his main wave board at the Tiree Wave Classic. His review explains all about this radically shaped board and which conditions it excels in. Can you guess?
Jan Sleigh Review
The board has been designed for medium to strong winds and at 85 litres, is well within the reach of sailors just learning to get into waves but who wouldn't be happy on a sinker.
Naish also make a Hybrid Freewave Roller Boardbag which is designed to get all your gear in one bag when travelling. Just throw in 3 sails, a mast, a boom, a board, wetsuit and harness and you're away!

FEATURES
Extremely short length: to fit into a normal size car and
into spots on the wave where you’ve never been before.
Greater overall width: helps early planing and use of a larger sail range.
Soft tucked under rails: these give smooth and reliable turning in the nose and center area
Sharper rail in the tail area: for better grip in turns on the wave. |
Tripod stabilization: meaning the greatest width is just in front of centre keeping the board stable and smooth in any condition.
Medium size tail: this creates a balance between light wind planing (where you want a wide tail) and top end control (where you don't)
Deck & Pads: ergonomic deck shape and new 3D dual density foot pads for comfort and the right grip when wave riding. |
