Naish US 111 Pro Wave 2007
Complete NEW shapes & graphics from Naish for 2007; everything from the rocker line to the footpads have been changed so we asked Michi Schweiger to guide us through Naish's dedicated wave board:
Firstly, who has been responsible for the development of this board & the testing?
Michi: All Naish boards have been shaped by & . The testing involves, first of all, Robby Naish, myself and a selection of riders like Marcilio Browne, Neto, Scott Carvill, Peter Garzke and Tristan Boxford.
Explain, in practically terms, how this board will perform differently than an 06 equivalent?
Michi: Compared to the 06 shapes we have added more responsiveness in the top turn. The has a additional tail kick on the last 6 inches with a slight 'V'. This allows us to create a solid bottom turn where you can lay the board on the rail with any speed and then have a smooth transition into the top turn without losing speed.
Due to the, the board releases and is then snappier in the cut back which allows the rider to stay closer to the wave. We also changed the to be even lighter and durable, with the layup featuring carbon kevlar sandwich deck with a carbon sandwich bottom.
The graphics are a lot less 'wild' than previous years - why is this?
Michi: We were looking for a for our entire line in order to bring a more unified look into the Naish boards. Boards like the Pro Wave US IIII display the best in construction and weight which gets optimized by the finish in order to save even more weight and improve the feel and the planing performance.
