North Warp 2007
North launch the last of their 2007 range actually in 2007!! The sail is split into 2 ranges: 10m and up is for Formula and 9.9m down is for slalom/speed.
The sail will be in the hands of Bjorn Dunkerbeck & Karin Jaggi at this season's numerous PWA Slalom & Speed events and North reckon it's acceleration factor, when powering out of gybes, will be one of the key factors giving their Team and you the edge over fellow competitors!
To achieve this dragster affect the sails have a very high luff tension. But power is nothing without control so in order to maximise top speed and fatigue free control combined with the acceleration factor, Kai devoted a lot of time to optimizing the sail’s twist characteristics.
This is what North had to say:
M.B.S.CONFIGURATION (maximum batten stiffness configuration)
For optimum profile stability we used only super stiff tube battens with a large diameter. Apart from two piece tubes (solid tip plus tube with extra large diameter) we used some three piece battens with an oversized second tube over an inner tube for extra stiffness.
Cam Spacer
The Cam Spacer allows sailors to individually tune the camber tension at the mast either remove the cam for ease of rotation or with spacer for more profile stability.
Construction
The complete double surface mast pocket is now made with high-tech yacht sail material (PH2X Cloth) with minimum stretch.
