| Q: |
What do you like about the sail? |
| |
|
| A: |
It’s a really user friendly, easy
to rig sail so it would suit anyone from
intermediate to expert wanting an all rounder
as it sits somewhere between freeride and
freestyle. Like most people I am not a
big fan of free sailing with big sails
and I would always opt too use a 5.7 over
a 6.4 but the weight and stability of the
S2 6.4 really surprised me. It is really
light and stable and doesn’t feel
like I am using a 6.4. It also has a short
boom length making it easy for learning
transitions. |

|
| Q: |
What are its limitations? |
| |
|
| A: |
I wouldn’t advise using it for wave
sailing as there is not a lot of reinforcement.
It also has a fairly low foot which could
catch in the waves. This is a blasting sail! |

| Q: |
What mast do you use with
it? |
| |
|
| A: |
You can use it on a 430cm normal diameter
mast but I think it sits better on a 430cm
skinny. |
| |
|
| Q: |
What boards have you used with
it? |
| |
|
| A: |
I use my 8.4 F2 Maui Project or a 100
litre freestyle board. |

|
| Q: |
How does it differ from the sails
you were using last year? |
| |
|
| A: |
I was using the Arrows Trixx 6.3. I find
it more stable and slightly fuller which
makes it more powerful in the lighter winds.
Although due to its good top end you can
hang onto it fairly comfortably when the
wind gets up. |

|
| Q: |
Describe in detail how you set
it. |
| |
|
| A: |
I pull on the down haul until you get
a floppy leach around the third batten
then set it with quite a lot of out haul.
This sail has quite a narrow luff tube
so you need to make sure the top of the
mast is right to the top of the luff. For
ease of rigging use a skinny mast.

|
| Q: |
What is the sail like over powered
and under powered? |
| |
|
| A: |
This sail has quite a large wind range,
so if it gets over powered small alterations
to down haul and out haul can help a lot
with control and stability. When underpowered
it doesn’t feel sluggish or heavy like
some 6.4m sails can do due to it being such
a light sail. |
