The first time I used the board the
factor that stood out the most was how
balanced and easy to sail it was. Then
as you get more used to it you end up looking
for rougher water and more wind to try
and find the limits of control. Have not
found them yet!
Q:
What are its limitations?
A:
As an all round board for all round sailing
there have been no limitations. It has endless
grip in the gybe very much like a freestyle
wave board but has superb speed and control.
Q:
What size sails do you use with
it?
A:
At the moment I’ve been using it
with a 7.0 but would take bigger and seeing
the control available a 5.0 to 5.3 should
still be very good.
Q:
What fin do you use with it and
where do you position it?
A:
Standard North Shore 27cm freestyle fin.
Q:
Where do you put the mast track
for different sail sizes?
A:
Middle seems to work well for everything
so far.
Q:
Where do you put the foot straps
and why?
A:
I position the footstraps on the double
setting and in the rear position. There
are only two positions on the back strap
so you adjust stance width with the 4 different
positions on the front straps. Mine are
second from the front giving a slightly
wider stance making you bend your knees.
Q:
What other boards are in your quiver?
A:
Thommen T1 X75
Q:
Any other comments?
A:
It’s nice to be on a board that is
not made in Thailand and the brand promises
the graphics on each model will stay the
same for 3 years so you won’t own an
out of date board the minute you buy it.
