Today, on the final day of the event, we saw some action at last at the PWA Gran Canaria Wind & Waves competition in Pozo. The worlds finest male and female wave windsurfers took to the water for a breathtaking super session given that the conditions were far from marginal.

With conditions not quite providing in terms of the waves for competition to commence the super session was called to provide a show and an unofficial title to the champion of PWA Pozo for 2013. In the men it was none other than Philip Koester who stormed into victory with a perfect double forward and a perfect no handed backloop… that is right, a no handed backloop. In the female category it was the turn of Daida Moreno to take the top spot with an unbelievably clean table-top forward and a super smooth one handed backloop that left many of the men green with envy.

Boardseeker’s very own Alfie Hart was on the scene to capture all the action, enjoy the clip and let us know your comments below, was it right for the PWA to not run competition?

How do Alonso not win or place in top 3 with that one handed tweaked push loop…? The only new trick to come out of Pozo this year?
