Catch Up w. Levi
What are you up to at the moment, in Maui?
The wave season is finished here on Maui. I do most of my travelling through the summer to either events or travel trips. I would like to find some new spots this summer. I’m curious about the coast of Baja there must be more down there then we know.
Do you have any big video projects in the pipeline?
I’m working with Brawzinho on a film project right now it’s still in the beginning stages. We filmed some good stuff at back yards that got us inspired to make something. We both like to travel and film and feels natural to work towards a goal.
Do you have any other future projects planned?
I have big air film going with Red Bull. It’s 90 percent shot and edited. The film is a short biography about my life but the focal point is the search to set the world’s highest windsurf jump record. It’s harder then it sounds finding the perfect conditions for this has been difficult.
Are you planning on attending any contests this year?
I’ll do a few AWT events and the Aloha Classic.
You’ve become well known for your radical style and insane tweaks above the lip, would you say you are known better for your free-sailing over that of competition sailing?
Free riding was the reason I feel in love with the sport. After stopping the tour I had little interest in the state of competition in windsurfing. It was a good move for me to start doing the AWT events it brought the best out of me and I started enjoying events. I do better when I’m having fun and sailing in conditions I like along with supportive sponsorship.
