The Switch Chachoo

The Switch Chachoo is perhaps one of the favourite moves in the freestylers repertoire, technically quite difficult, but easy to double up, it can score high when done well. Over to Quincy Offringa:

Recap:

  • Find a flat spot
  • Turn off downwind and pick up speed
  • Arch your hips towards the wind
  • As you jump bring your arms further back, cross them over and pull the sail really close as you pass around the clew
  • Bring your back leg in, grab with the front arm and instantly let go with the back hand
  • Lean forwards, look in the direction of spin and sliiiiide
  • Quincy’s top tip: Never completely let go of the sail with both hands.
