In the first of our new series on the kids of yesteryear now working in the industry, Adam Lewis takes us on a day in the life tour. Adam is one of the nicest guys on the PWA and UK scene, but don't let that fool you, because when he steps into his windsurfing arena, he is like a beast just released from his cage. Throwing death defying double forwards and insane arched backies, with untamable style. It is a relief that he can leave that all on the water and return to the work place with a level head, a huge amount of experience and a lot of knowledge on his side.

9.00-10.00

Morning are pretty hard over here in Tenerife, I normally get up and stumble down to the beach and grab some breakfast with my Girlfriend. Normally the wind is a little lighter early in the morning so you can get away without too much sand in your coffee!

10.00-11.00

The Official Test Centre opens so its time to open up go down to the office, a quick spot of cleaning and then time to check the bookings, emails, paper work all the boring stuff!

11.00-13.00

Around this time the wind has settled in and all the clients come down and we run through the conditions, about the equipment they are going to be using to day and set it up for them. I don’t think there is another Centre in the world where you can have such a great and varied selection of brand spanking gear, epic conditions with such informed and lovely staff! Haha.

13.00-16.00

By this point most of the clients are out on the water. In the winter this is my chance to turn my attention to the R+D work I do with Point-7. (In the summer I just go sailing) I’ve just taken on the role of head of the Wave Development for Point-7 and it’s really interesting to see how things work within a brand. It’s a great opportunity to work with the guys, it’s a young company and the guys really listen and we all make the best sails we can! Normally we run through how the sails feel and things to be changed we have a loft here and in Italy so little things are changed and then we can get straight back on to the water to test.

16.00-18.00

All the clients start to come off the water so its back in to centre manager mode, getting the gear washed down, back in the centre and checking on how the clients sessions were.

18.00-19.30/20.00

Sailing, the wind stays around all day here in Tenerife so after the centre shuts its out on the water to train or freesail!!

20.00-21.00

I normally have the hardest choice of the day to make around this time, depending on how much sailing I did in the day or if I have a comps coming up. It’s either off to the gym or a beer with the boys after sailing!!

21.00-22.00/late

Its time to go home and grab some dinner. Again pretty hard choice, chill out at home or grab a mojito in town!
