"Judging by the remnants of swell that were forecast to remain after the main low pressure went through, we had an opportunity to try out Ringstead. It was apparent it wasn't going to be big, but everything else looked perfect for some pure wave riding action over the shallow reef. It's at times like these when a quick scan of the forecast could put you off the scent. We were on it and made preparation so everything was timed right to get us there for our dawn session." James "The tide state was low, which meant that on the main reef, rocks were breaking the surface. Because of this, it was necessary to catch the set waves that broke further out to avoid getting stuck on the reef. Bottom turning over patches of exposed seaweed was a gamble that paid off until Chris hit a submerged rock. Most of the time though, the waves broke out far enough that catching them was safe but the depth shallow enough to suck up in to glassy smooth bowls that were unbeatable for bottom turns. I'll remember that day for a long time without a doubt, great to share it with good friends." Jamie
