"No Camera, No Action!"

Name: Lucy Robson
Age: 24yrs
Home town: Brighton

Since I last updated everyone about my whereabouts and antics at the Tiree Wave Classic, I have been lucky enough to go on a couple of really good trips. Firstly to Margarita in November, (check out the travel section to read my report) and secondly to Fuerteventura in December with my boyfriend Caspar.

As you will no doubt surmise, Margarita was absolutely fantastic. Although admittedly not the windiest trip I’ve been on, I can still boast a 100% record for getting on the water. If I ever doubted my light wind freestyle skills these doubts are firmly abolished as I persevered & perspired day after day making the most of Caribbean escapism and bikini windsurfing!

And then with two days to spare it was straight out to Fuerteventura for a month of surfing and wave sailing. This trip was absolutely priceless, not at least for the amount of laughing and unintentionally humorous people I met out there. I could regale you with these stories but then again they just don’t sound that funny second-hand!

Aside from a bit of bad luck (car broken into and camera stolen - hence the distinct lack of action shots this month… and a nasty wipe-out surfing requiring several stitches in my shin) I can really recommend this destination as a great place to go. We were really fortunate to get the most of a decent winter swell and I remembered exactly how satisfying it can be to surf decent reef breaks (which is why I keep telling my mum I can’t possibly settle down yet and must keep travelling.)

And so the next stop - Cape Town, South Africa. I’m heading out tomorrow and my ticket is for 5 weeks. I’m really looking forward to seriously improving my windsurfing and hopefully shall be providing plenty of proper pics to illustrate this in the next issue!

Byeeee!!

Ed’s note: Lucy worked her backside off to become a lawyer and then worked at a Solicitors in Brighton to gain her necessary qualifications before deciding to take a year out to see just how good she can get at windsurfing. I wanted you all to know this as she has worked hard to take all this time out and YOU could do you same!
