Editor's Ramble
Jinxed by the wind! Its not only windsurfers who get jinxed by the wind, but magazines also!! This month we had a team at the PWA Sylt event to bring you all the gnarly action from the Sylt shorebreak and guess what...... the waves didn't show!
So we decided to hold off this issue and send a team to the Tiree Wave Classic to bring you the footage from there instead, but we got half a day of action!!
So we apologise for the late release of this issue. We will bring you all the action from the PWA Aloha Classic in the next issue (wind permitting)! In the meantime, here's a selection of my favourites from our November Issue:
|
SHARK STORIES: Go to Page 4 & scroll down...read...then cancel that flight! |
|
|
EVENT REPORTS: Read all about the one day of action from Tiree + the RS:X Worlds. |

Was Boujamma Gullioul going for a triple or did he just cock up the landing? Either way, this must of hurt.

Sylt Footage
No waves but enough slalom racing to justify a video feature + some unofficial freestyle action.

Starting next issue (mid November) there are going to be some changes to the way Boardseeker works…
Whats changing?
- From mid November, there will be a new subscription service in place. Subscribers will receive a copy of our new double disc DVD in time for Christmas and gain access to the next 12 months of online video content within the magazine.
- Readers who choose not to subscribe will still have free access to the magazine but will not be able to view the excellent video content and will not receive the DVD.
Why start charging?
- Boardseeker Magazine has been a completely free service for over 2 years and in that time the magazine has grown massively, thanks to your custom. But unfortunately so too have the production costs, particularly with regard to video.
- Each issue of the magazine now contains approx 60mins of video footage produced exclusively for Boardseeeker.
- For the video content within the magazine to continue improving, we need a certain amount of financial contribution from our readers.
What will you get for your money?
- Access to the next 12 months of Boardseeker Video content (approx 60 mins per issue of original footage edited exclusively for Boardseeeker).
- A copy of our new double disc DVD featuring a round-up of all the best video action from 2006. We have 120 minutes of footage from 28 locations and 5 disciplines of windsurfing all professionally produced.
- By supporting the magazine financially it allows us to keep improving the quality and quantity of video within the magazine and produce truly independent editorial.

How much will it cost?
- The whole package, including the DVD will be sold through the magazine for a price of £29.95* (Approx US$55 or 44 Euro).
- The DVD will be sold as a stand-alone product online and within retailers for £24.95. A teaser for the DVD will be released on our Home page early Nov.
- That’s approx 600 minutes of online video content over the next 12 months and a double disc DVD for the same price as a set of harness lines!!
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about the new subscription service or the DVD then please e-mail: adrian@boardseeker.com
OR post your response on the forum
*This is a special introductory price for payments received before Christmas 06. The cost after this date will be slightly higher.
