Plans are now being finalized for Sparky’s third Youth Training Camp – a scheme masterminded by Sparky (Mark Hosegood) himself, and drawing inspiration from the Andy Funnell Foundation, to help raise the level of youth windsurfing within the UK and abroad.
| Building on the success of the two previous camps in Dahab, Sparky has seen his recent appointment as the OTC’s Beach Manager as a perfect opportunity to develop the camp concept further. Due to take place at the OTC in El Médano, Tenerife during the May half term (26th May-2nd June) the camp will now benefit from the use of the |

Two Italian windsurfers brutishly murdered on the Island of Sal, Cape Verde.
With so much attention being focused on the PWA Cape Verde event in this months issue, it would be remiss not to pass comment on the shocking news about the brutal murder of two Italians: Giorgia Busato (28) and Dalia Saiani (33), only days before the PWA event.
The girls loved windsurfing and like many fell in love with Cape Verde’s beaches and lifestyle. Both had bought small houses to spend the winters in their new paradise.
Their friend, 17yr old Agnese, was the sole survivor of the brutal attack and although left for dead managed to raise the alarm the next morning.
Everyone at Boardseeker, and on behalf of all our friends in the windsurfing community, would sincerely like to express our condolences to the Busato and Saiani families. May the girls rest in peace.
While we do not want to print the details of the attack on these pages, we can provide links for more details of the story:
To express condolences you can go to this local windsurfing community: www.adriaticowindclub.com
