Klaas: I’d been in Denmark on the Danish east coast and decided to try this place out being not too far from Copenhagen and working well with the forecasted easterly/ north-easterly winds. This beach doesn’t work that often, as it needs a rare northeast breeze. I’ve only been here three times so far and this last time has been the best. I’ve heard stories about logo to mast high down-the-line conditions but I think you have to be very, very lucky. I think this place gets good like five days of the year. This day was definitely one of my best sessions on the Baltic Sea .
I’ve been in Denmark with Victor (Fernandez) for quite a while now and we have sailed many days on the North Sea to get in training for the PWA Sylt event. After our Denmark trip we took the train to Sylt for one day, dragged all the stuff from the train station to the beach (about 1km) and then there was not enough wind! At least it was onshore, rainy and cold, so good to get into the mental strategy for dealing with the Sylt event!
