What is it?
An action DVD with footage from Europe, Maui & Australia. Riders include Robby Naish, Pete Volwater, Kauli Seadi, Levi Siver, Taty Frans…you get the picture…the good ones!
Length
47 mins of the main feature, 75 mins of extras.
Who edited it?
Spaako (Frank Borghstun)
What we liked about it
Lots of variation in location & action from wave sailing in Oz & Maui to freestyle in Bonaire to indoor in Belgium filmed with different angles and lots of watercam footage. They have also made the effort to get quotes from the top riders to go with the action and it’s all very professionally put together. Frank is from Holland and the DVD contains action from various Dutch beaches which made a refreshing change. Remembering that Pete Volwater, Anne Marie Reichmann & Kevin Mevissen are all from Holland, you also get some good action! We also liked the opening chapter showing Robby Naish competing at a Dutch event way back in the days before monofilm and the Red Bull Soul wave event from Denmark which again, you don’t hear a lot about.
What we didn’t like
The action is high quality, well filmed, well produced but the footage lacks that extra wow factor. But that’s not what this DVD is about. This film should be enjoyed from start to finish on your sofa after a quality day’s windsurfing.
Chick action .v. Bloke action
Anne Marie Reichmann ripping in her home country is good enough for us!

Best bits
The Oz section (Second Home: Peter) will have you booking your flight to Perth this winter. Watching mini-ripper Kai Lenny at Hookipa (The Next Generation:Kids). He’s still at Junior school yet goes out in bigger waves than most windsurfers would dare.
What is missing?
As explained above, a little bit of wow factor like a new move caught on camera or a really, really big day at one of the famous windsurfing breaks.
Extras
This section is massive! 75 mins of leftovers including the PBA Zandvoort original cut from 1986. Keeps you entertained!
Music
We liked it! A good mix of heavy, loud tracks with some chilled out tunes as well.
Cost 34.90 euros
Available at: www.wildbirdsmovie.com and all good windsurfing retailers.
