Fat Face Windsurfing Festival: 8/9 September, Inn on the Beach, Hayling Island
If you are one of the lucky 362 who competed last year and witnessed the Fat Face Night Windsurf, then you’ll be glad to know its back on this year but with even more stuff to see & do!!
- View the 2008 equipment from all the major brands
- Listen to guest lectures from the designers and shapers behind the brands.
- Attend mini-coaching clinics from Simon Bornhoft, Peter Hart, Jim Collis, John Hibbard, Martin Francis and Dan Ellis.
Partake in the Master Blasters, designed for sailors who haven’t competed on the national circuit. Each race has a separate title sponsor so loads of prizes given out. Categories include pre millennium and pre-1985 equipment and also a fancy dress prize for those wishing to sail with a cloth donkey on their head. This format is designed so as not to disadvantage the competitor who can’t make the whole weekend; everyone has the same opportunity of winning a prize after each race. There is also the edition of tandem racing this year which is sure to be fun!
(There will be a separate class for all those sailors who have competed on the national circuit)
For those into some freestyle and super x, there will be qualifying heats for the Night Series event where competitors will have the opportunity to secure a place in the Night Time series against the Pros.
There will also be an opportunity to win a Mistral Wave board signed and donated by last years Night Series Windsurf winner, Nik Baker.
Try taking part in the Team competition of any 3 sailors (no pros though), of any age or gender from a club or retail shop can register on the day with their team name. Last year, the Team "Firestarters" where lucky enough to win a £2000 holiday voucher!! |
