Day in the Life of……Pascal Bronnimann, Sales manager of FWD Hawaii
Pascal moved to Maui in December 2005 and has been working since for Quatro International, Goya Sails & Boards and Maui Fin Company which come under the umbrella of FWD Hawaii. He also attempts to windsurf as much as possible when the conditions are right.
0630: Get up and kiss wife.
0645- 0800: Check weather and e-mails, eat breakfast, feed cat and shower.
0830: Arrive at work which is a 20 minute drive from home, passing Ho’okipa Beach Park on the way to check the wave height and wind direction.
0830 - 0900: Do more e-mails and open retail store.
0900 - 0100: Take care of walk-in customers, do general desk work, phone calls, pack and ship equipment, help team riders if they drop into the shop or via emails and finally hand out demo gear. Anybody is welcome to hire a board, sail and/or harness for a day for free!
(1000: If the store is quiet leave as fast as possible and go to Lanes if the rare Kona winds are up to get some port tack action – those are some of the best days for me on Maui).
1300 - 1330: Close store, drive to the beach, eat lunch, rig sail or grab surfboard.
1330 - 1500/1700: Windsurf or surf depending on the conditions. Short sessions in the flattish summer conditions and very long sessions when the surf’s up!
1700 - 1730: Drive home, run errands, do some more e-mails.
1730 - 1900: Play with cat & wife (!) cook dinner and have a glass of wine.
1900 - 2130: Eat dinner, watch a movie and relax.
2200: Bedtime.
