Antoine did it again but this time it was not so easy. Micah Buzianis was pushing hard until he had to retire with a broken leg! Dunkerbeck gave him a run for his euros and there were surprise Round wins from Ben Van Der Steen and Finian Maynard. Kevin Pritchard may have only won one Round but he was consistently in the top5 and hence took third place overall. Good result also for UK rider Ross Williams who could well have made it to the podium except for his disastrous first day on the race course.
There were 14 rounds of slalom held over five days of competition. Here’s the finals of Round 10 and Round 11 held on the penultimate day of the contest and then the very last race, the final of Round 14 which sealed those podium finishes. Commentary by the legendary Dan Ellis.
| Final of Round 10: With Micah Buzianis injured and Bjorn getting disqualified for being over the start line too early, you’d think Race10 would be all Antoine’s but not when there is a very fast Dutch guy on the start line. Also spot the legend that falls off a gybe – they are human after all. |
