Josh Angulo: Slalom Boy!!
Slalom is gaining momentum and popularity as every event passes. First it attracted the young freestylers like Diony Guadagnino, Taty Frans and Ricardo Campello. Now it seems to be appealing to the world’s best wave sailors with Josh Angulo being the latest addition to the PWA Slalom fleet.
Having had flashes of brilliance in the old days of slalom, Josh never took this discipline as seriously as he did the waves and it’s been a good seven years between his last event and the current PWA slalom event in Fuerteventura.
Using kit lent to him by his buddy Micah Buzianis and sailing under sail number US-4, Josh is doing rather well lying in 12th overall after 12 rounds of racing, including a third in Round 7 just behind Antoine Albeau and his buddy Micah.
We asked UK rider Dan Ellis to find out what has inspired Josh to get back into slalom and hear whether Ezzy and Angulo Boards have plans to produce slalom production equipment.
