The WaveJam
WaveJam is all about getting the best UK windsurfers to the best UK beaches when they are 'going off'! To ensure this, a WaveJam weekend is called 48hrs or even 24hrs before the Saturday morning to ensure the wind & waves will appear.
The man behind this is Pro sailor Steve Thorp who was just fed-up of spending his precious free time sitting in beach car parks. Over to Steve....

Best Jumps
Well we start with the legend that is Jan Sleigh and his famous cheese rolls. Then we have Steve King doing backloop after backloop. Not to be outdone by his twin, Andy King, who really steals the show with his multiple jumping talents at one point going rather high! |

Best Waves
Andy King again strutting his stuff including a flaka on the wave. Jan Sleigh puts his Naish kit through the paces. Si Crowther (UK Amateur champion) does some nice turns and then the whipper snapper that is Chris Murray ends his wave ride with what we think is a switch stance forward off the lip attempt. There is then more of Steve King and finishing with the Big Boss man; Steve Thorp at Porthmeor, St.Ives. Mast high, gnarly breakers tamed by the boy from Leicester (well, nearly). |

Wipeouts & Students
Now for the funny section, the one we all love. Check out Steve Thorp’s fastest waterstart in the west of Cornwall courtesy of some serious white water. Then we have the guy sailing some serious retro kit – right on. But we have to finish with the students, god bless ‘em, you’ve never seen forwards like these since the Olympic pole vaulting final at the Athens Games. |
