Taboulet owns this move. So much so that his version of the table top forward is unlike any other sailor. We asked Julien why his TTF stands out from the crowd.

What are you doing that makes your table top forwards look so different from other riders?

Julien: I don't know, sometimes you just have a move in your mind and when you make it for real it works perfect. So long ago I had my first try at table forward, and year after year I understood that this move will save me in a closely fought heat. I think that the most important thing is to place your body really downwind in the air and push your table with progression to get the maximum tweak at the maximum height and remember to stay OVER your kit!

It looks like pure strength to pull that sail back around into the loop after the table top - true?

Julien: Not really. The more you stay over your kit, the more it's easy to push all your body between your board and your sail. It’s like an open window and you go head first inside! The weight of your body helps a lot, but you need to pull hard at the same time with your back hand.

Do you think you can go any more tweaked?

Julien: I don't know, but I always try to do the maximum tweak and to go higher and higher, cause the feeling is sick!

Finally, what jumping moves are you perfecting for the '09 season?

Julien: Always the double forward loop, cause the feeling of this move is so sick too! When you go for it, the adrenaline that you take is huge...I love that!
