How appropriate in the week following the anniversary of Andy Funnell’s death, this move, named after Andy, was the hottest move at the PWA Lanzarote event. We asked Boardseeker cameraman, Alfie Hart, to tell us why.

Alfie: I hadn't seen the Funnel done with so much ‘air’ before.  The riders and judges are all raving about Kiri's extra air style when doing this move. When you watch it in slow mo, it is mind blowing and then again in real time how quickly he spins in the air!

The first one shown in this movie clip didn't count in his heat as he had already done his quota of moves under the new format. Since then Kiri has been fitting the move into his heats at the start to make sure it counts. I don't know how much they score but I assume it gets a lot of points!  Today (Wednesday) he came second so he is improving as he works out how this new format works.
