In your own words describe what 'Stacked' is?

Andre: It is a 10 minute windsurf movie which will make you dream of your next session in the water. You will find different action riders, spots and camera perspectives all put together with nice editing and some effects. I think you will like it...

Why have you produced it?

Andre: Because I think video is a good way to transport the abilities of a rider or the difficulty of moves. I really like to be behind the camera and work on good footage. After the DVD clips I did we got lots of positive feedback which always makes me motivated to do more and more.

Why did you choose those particular sailors: Victor, Gollito and yourself?

Andre: In case of STACKED I had to plan everything a bit earlier than normal because it was quite a big project and therefore plan to film in one spot. To not complicate things, I thought the Canarian Islands would be best. Victor is so good in Waves there, Gollito is at the moment just setting the Freestyle level and there was also a chance that he could already take the World Title on Fuerte. So I picked those two as well as myself.

How much work goes into producing a movie like this?

Andre: Quite a lot. I had to plan long time ahead to get the necessary support. This time I worked with two different cameramen on Gran Canaria and we had one additional cameraman on Fuerte (besides me). Then I went back home to collect all the best footage from the DV tapes, name the action right and then prepare for the editing. Editing took more time than usual as we did a few nice effects. All in all it took around 6 weeks.

Is it hard to compete on the Tour, do well and also film/produce a web movie?

Andre: Yes it is, but I knew that beforehand. First for me is always my PWA or EFPT result. After comes the filming. But of course sometimes you have things in the head which blocks you maybe a bit for getting good results. But overall these videos are really powerful and the combination with some good results gives good feedback to all my sponsors. BUT next year I will definitely push to get right to the top of the EFPT Tour again and do a bit better on the PWA also.

Why ‘web video’ and not another DVD?

Andre: There was one point when a DVD seller in El Yaque tried to sell me ‘Wet & Salty’ for less than two euros. I thought; wait here...something is wrong! To print a successful DVD you need time, money and luck. With the internet video I can reach more people and we offer high class footage and editing. I think this is the right way. But at one point for sure we will do a DVD again!
