1. Where to Learn

Join a club, go to windsurfing school or get some personal tuition.

Get a lesson

  • The RYA Windsurfing Scheme is THE way to learn to windsurf. The link below will take you to the RYA Windsurfing Section.
  • The Level 1 course will get you up and going and hopefully turning around.
  • You can gain a Level 1 certificate in 2 days but most people take about 5 days from scratch to reach this level.
  • The Level 2 course will improve your stance, your turning ability, get you to beach start and introduce the harness. Again this can be achieved in 2 days but more likely will take a 5 day course.
  • Go to http://www.rya.org.uk/Courses/windsurfingcourses.htm
  • Your local windsurfing shop may also do lessons.
