9. Safety Good advice to avoid a trip home in the RNLI lifeboat.

• Before you go, call someone with your windsurf plans, but be sure to let them know you are off the water at the end of the day.
• Do not sail on your own. If no one else is out, tough!
• Don’t risk tatty rope or badly rigged equipment, sort it out before you go out!
• Always wear a wetsuit with a harness or buoyancy aid.
• If you get into trouble, stay with your board.
• If the weather man got it wrong and it’s too windy or blowing offshore then go fishing or go home!
• Give kitesurfers plenty of room on and off the water.
