Steven Van Broeckhoven returned back to the EFPT this year with one result set in his sights – 1st place.
It’s not easy, every heat is a fight, especially in these conditions, you have to work hard and to work hard you have to have trained hard
After some seriously tricky conditions in both Russia and France, Steven proved his masterful skill and also his drive to win by taking the top podium spot at both events. On top of this he also won the tow-in here in France and finished 3rd on the PWA tour. Not a bad year, however, for him we certainly know he has just one more goal left for freestyle – win it all, and win it all in one year. Will 2014 be his year? The way things have been going for this Belgian freestyler it is quite possible.
When on the podium Steven quoted:
“It’s not easy, every heat is a fight, especially in these conditions, you have to work hard and to work hard you have to have trained hard. For this I did both and I’m stoked to become the European Champion once again, after winning it in 2009 and 2010 I took a break to focus on the PWA but I’m happy to return to the EFPT, the tour is a lot of fun yet still some of the best in the world are here. The likes of Dieter van der Eyken and many others are all tough opponents, so it is not just an easy win, yet still it is a great place for new people to competition to come and give it a go on the international scene.”
