Koster and Glenn Alexander
What can you expect? The man sails well. You don’t get to see much of other people’s heats while your on the water as you’re so concentrated on your own, so I didn’t see much of him sailing and you can’t tell from the beach as it is so far away. From what I saw it looked good! It looks like the new Severne Blades are working really well for him. Most impressive was his ability to land doubles on a 5.7 which I thought would almost be impossible. I didn’t get to see much of his wave riding but I do know that Glen beat Koster in the final and then lost on his jumps. Glen is an exceptionally good wave rider with solid turns, aerials and really flows between everything so they must of been awarding this higher, which I think is a good thing.
Glen is one of those guys you hear about it in surf movies. You know the ones where guys surf good waves by themselves all the time and are true legends of a sport. Well thats Glen. Quiet, modest and above all loves to windsurf. He comes from a fishing town called Greenhead on the coast of WA. The wave is 2km from the beach, is known to snap masts and there is also a few sharks around. Sounds great. Now add sailing by yourself and that is what Glen does every day. This guy rips! His wave riding is very fluid and he seems to always pick the best waves some how. He is probably the only person to turn up at a Competition and barely say a sentence then go out there and give the best a run for there money!!
