The third stage of the French slalom championships took place in La Franqui, Leucate from 20 to 22 September. Antoine Questel was the winner in the men’s division, with Delphin Cousin taking top honours in the women’s.
More from Delphin:
“First place on this third stage of the Championship of France AFF! Super conditions in which I used my Neilpryde Evo V 6.4/5.8/5.0 as well as my JP 56 and 66! Beautiful battles on the water with a total of 13 validated handles! RDV therefore for the final in Loctudy / the torch end of October in order to know who will be the Champions of France slalom 2013!”
More from Antoine:
“This victory on the third stage of the championship of France brings me back in contact with the annual podium and especially allow me to fight for first place in the final next month in Britain. My very good speed gives me confidence for the final of the World Cup in Sylt in the next few days. This third step in Leucate was also an opportunity to validate the work done the previous month in terms “strong wind” and evaluate my actual performance against other French competitors operating on the PWA. Friday, during the first day of racing, I made many mistakes including maneuvers. Two races that made me earn points for the start of the race!
“The next day, I get in shape, confident and won three of four races of the day! I had great starts in the final with high accelerations up to half of the first edge allowing me to free myself from the fleet. The fourth round was won by my colleague Peter Mortefon training. I finished the 2nd round behind him. My very good second day project myself in the first place.
“Sunday and last day, no wind day, the result does not change … so I won the race!
“I am very happy to have won this stage. This gives me a great motivation for the final of the World Cup weekend in Sylt.
Stay tuned …. ”
