This year the EFPT have once again been on the scene at the Podersdorf PWA World Cup. Running the Chiemsee European Tow-In Championships the EFPT have already finished a full training session and two qualification rounds. Tonight we will see the third round which will kick off in about an hour. To follow the action live, head over to the EFPT Facebook Page where they will be updating in the same format as a Live Ticker, make sure to Like the page and leave any comments questions you may have at the bottom of this page and we’ll be sure to get them answered. Last night Marco Wedele from WindsurfCoaching was the EFPT Live Ticker guest, tonight is the turn of the young Youp Schmit who will be giving us all the updates he can about the tow-in, the moves and his verdict on who should take the lead. With building winds it looks like this evenings qualifications could once again prove tricky for the ten riders who will take part.
Again we’ve hooked up with the crew at Continentseven to bring you all the latest video updates that they have been producing, so a special thanks to them and enjoy the clips.
A short training session allowed many of the riders to get one or two practice runs in, big moves were shown including burner 720’s, double air funnels, triple air funnels and more, check out the video from that session below.
With such a long day on the water in the PWA side of the Worldcup, the EFPT crew decided to postpone the first qualifications to Sunday where they planned to hold the first two qualifications back to back.
The qualifications began at 5.00pm with a slight wind and small chop, however the competitors still put on a good show with Julien Mas boosting an impressive double air funnel to take the lead until Tonky Frans stormed ahead with a huge burner 720, taking third place was Bjorn Saragoza. The full report can be seen HERE.
The second round began at 8.00pm with increasing wind and some fairly uninviting chop the competitors found themselves struggling a little more to get going, however the conditions provided an interesting opportunity for the riders to do some more wind based moves, which included shakas, bobs and more. In the end Dieter Van Der Eyken, Taty Frans and Gollito Estredo took the top 3 places for the final tomorrow night.
All the action can be seen in this really nice clip below.
