Severne Sails have launched their 2008 Slalom sails; the Code Red and the OverDrive.
In Severne\’s words:
With the emergence of slalom the versatile performance of the OverDrive has come into its own, where acceleration, a huge top speed and maneuverability achieve a perfect balance. A focus on durability and an optimum cost to performance ratio, the new OverDrive is developed to perform on lower carbon masts (75%
and up), whilst the dropped clew reduces boom length for improved performance with aluminum booms.
OverDrive Sizes: 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, 10.0, 11.0
The Code Red is a powerful race sail that provides a new era of stability, speed and agile dynamics. Get one on the water and you will feel the result of the size specific development and construction technology that refines the performance of every size. Horsepower is enhanced through deeper profiles while maintaining
fine entry angles, this results in a rig that drives through lulls and chop. While an increased skin tension, refined Aramid Torsion Frame and stiffer battens in the upper rig area offer more overall stability and control.
Code Red Sizes: 4.6, 5.1, 5.6, 6.1, 6.7, 7.7, 8.3, 9.0, 10.0, 11.0, 11.7
