White Air Story

Boardseeker

John “The Rock” Hibbard wins White Air after 3 rounds of freewave. With a wave riding only competition held on Thursday, followed by a jumping freewave style round on Friday in the perfect sunny conditions. The third round was held on Sunday in dismal conditions. It started off as a freewave style competition with jumps, but in deterioating condtions the final went to 2 waves only despite them being slow and small.  Jamie Hancock was ripping at compton and took victory on Thursday, although Chris Audsley picked out some really good waves.  Andy King came up with the goods to take Fridays round with some high one handed backloops and double loop attempts, the same happened on Sunday where Andy moved to the final with some one handed backloops and high stalled forwards. However John Hibbard won the final where the the format turned to two waves only, and capatilised on this by milking the waves in the dying conditions. Hibbard\’s consistency in all rounds saw him get the main podium place just ahead of Andy King. In the ladies fleet, Charlie Connely, IOW resident wiped the floor in her fleet, with Tanya Saleh in second.
