Nick Dempsey finished off an amazing competition last friday, taking the gold home. This was a very important test for Dempsey to check his form for the Olimpic games in the summer.
“It was really important for me to do well at this event, The Worlds was not a focus event for me – it was more like a winter warm-up – so this is really the first event of the season and is one of two target events before Beijing,
“I’ve been working really hard out here for the past six weeks, and my result just shows that the hard work is starting to pay off.”
In the women fleet, legendary Alessandra Sensini won with the young spanish Marina Alabau in Second and Sophia Klepacka in third. Bryony Shaw just missed the podium finishing in fourth, she had to retire from the medal race with a torn sail.
