Well day one of the Tiree Wave Classic is over and although it wasn\’t classic, there was enough wind & waves to run competition at Balephuil. In the starboard tack, cross onshore 5.5m weather the Amateurs, Masters and the Ladies started the ball rolling.
In the Masters Dave Gayda, Keith Shorrocks, Mark Seaney and Jacobi got through to the last 8 before the wind died. The amateurs went through more rounds to get to the last 4 of current UKWA/BWA leader, Dave Horrocks who joined Lecky Gayda, Roger Hollies and David Bichan.
The Ladies didn\’t get to compete as the wind died off completely and Head Judge Duncan Coombes called it a day just after six.
The forecast is looking good tommorow and the call is for a very early start so whilst you\’re having your breakfast think of the poor Pro sailors who will be rigging up in the dawn light!
We will keep you updated on the FORUM once the heats begin tommorow.
