Get ready for some exciting action from the darkest corner of North Wales. The biggest names in UK wave sailing, including Chris Audsley, Ben Proffit, John Skye and Phil Horrocks are showing to hopefully compete in the first proper event this year.
So far the Irish and Cornish events have suffered from lack of conditions, but after a windy spell in the UK the forecast looks more promising.
Phil Horrocks, from Bangor in North Wales is hoping to make this his event after winning the “fun” freestyle competition in Ireland (full report next issue). Despite Phil taking his freesailing to another level that includes big air chachos and pushie table tops we have yet to see Phil perform to his potential in competition. The likes of Proffit, Audsley, Skye and King revel under competition pressure so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
The forecast is also looking interesting, starting from the SW on the Friday and swinging to the NW for Monday we will see a range of conditions all the way from port tack to starboard tack. If this is the case then the best all rounder will come out top.
We will be keeping you regularly updated throughout the weekend.
