Morning all. Today\’s headline news is the confirmation of PWA Tenerife. The PWA made the announcement yesterday and the website is now launched and ready to go. That\’s two very last minute confirmations for the PWA this year. The event will take place between the 12th and 18th of July, with our sister site Boards promising live coverage from the event. Click here to find out how to follow that and head over to tenerife-pwa.com for all the latest podcasts, interviews and result updates.
Below you will also find a video of Dany Bruch introducing the event and letting you know all the latest –
Another video now and Nicola Terenz has put together this nice clip of his winter training in El Yaque, home of Gollito Estredo. It looks like it was a pretty busy time of the year with huge numbers flocking to the beach. Check it out –
Another video and this comes from Maxim De Bruck who scored 3.8-4.5 weather at his homespot in Oostende, Belgium.
Now for something on the fitness side. We all know it is important to have good health and be fit for windsurfing, many take the approach that windsurfing is fitness. However, Sean O\’Brien has boldly stated that \’windsurfing alone is simply not a good enough single-source of exercise\’. The 6-time Australian Formula Windsurfing Champion certainly has a point. Many top pros are seen spending a lot of time working out, Davy Scheffers who we mentioned yesterday showed this in one of his latest episodes of Chasing the Dream. Robby Swift, Marcilio Browne, Kauli Seadi and more make no effort to hide the fact that they regularly hit the gym and also undertake pilates workouts to keep strong and help prevent injury. Want to see what Sean is talking about and what you can do to help you windsurf for longer then head over to getwindsurffit.com and check out the video clip below.
Starboard have update their website with the news that they performed the hell out of the IFCA Pro kids, Juniors and Youth World Championships with #1 rankings across all three categories. Read the report here.
Finally, let\’s wrap up with a cheeky power hour from windsurfbritain. Sharing the stoke, it looks like the UK is on for it\’s fourth 4.2 weekend in a row, at worst 4.7. So if your sail is feeling a little knackered or you think it is time to spice up your quiver with that latest shiny new board then be sure to head to your local shop and talk toys. For those that don\’t know, quite often shops hold a demo fleet and can offer an hour or two on each board for you to find out what suits your style and needs before making any concrete decisions. So get on down, get on the water and have fun.
We\’ll see you there.
