Good morning all. As per each day the updates are coming in once again for what is probably one of the most exciting PWA events on record.
Yesterday saw the PWA race officers make their way deep into the double elimination. Klaas Voget was most likely one of the under-stated riders of the day, making his way back through more heats than any other rider, he is no doubt fairly happy that the decision to stop the double was called yesterday, allowing him a bit of rest before trying to continue his charge. Another stand-out was Marcilio Browne, who has continued to impress throught the competition. Read much more about it on the PWA press release – day 4 and check out the video highlights below, including a nice interview with Duncan Coombes.
Having mentioned yesterday that Philip Koester won the single elimination, videos are hitting the web thick and fast of the heats and some of the moves. We were pretty sure that we saw him try a triple forward but not really make much of the third rotation and it seems that this video might just prove that. Consider that he can make double forward loops in his sleep then watch this and make a decision for yourself…
With that in mind we are sure that if he sticks his big moves in his heat today; push forward, double forward, insane backies and super stalled forwards, then what can only be next is the triple. So tune in to the livestream and keep your eyes peeled. The excitment is at an all time high. Obviously the single elimination finals were going off, the moves were astronomical and the crashes were pretty damn hardcore, so if you missed it, here are the highlights.
Finally, John Skye reveals all in his blog update. A little bit unsatisfied with sail choices, he is looking forwards to Tenerife, which is just around the corner.
North sails are counting down the days until their official 2013 Wave and Freestyle release. A few images and web clips have made their way across the web, especially these last few days with the PWA event on. However, much is still under wraps and you can check out a lot more on the 20th July, just follow this facebook page.
Goya have released a little bit of press on Keith Teboul testing sails in the Gorge. A few nice images and a sneaky look at some new sails shapes… Check it out here.
Finally, Bryony Shaw has sent us this nice video of her training and learning a bit of Spanish at the same time. It\’s quite common to find multi-lingual windsurfers as many spend a lot of time in other countries with friends from all over the world. So one for the parents, if you want to get your kids into languages then the best solution is windsurfing, that\’s a boardseeker fact, just don\’t translate freestyle move names first…
