Good morning all, welcome to another day of windsurfing news.
First up, the day 10 video from the PWA for the Fuerteventura World Cup event, where you can see just some of those radical moves that we mentioned yesterday afternoon.
If you want to read more about the event then head on over to continentseven.com where they have a nice report from the final day as well as some promised video highlights. We\’ve also received the following just in from Gaastra, who seem pretty stoked with their teams performance.
The howling winds of Fuerteventura finally returned on the last day of the event, as the best freestylers in the world delivered a breathtaking display to leave the crowd and judges in awe.
Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / Gaastra / Mystic / Maui Ultra Fins / Chris Benz) stomped her authority over the women’s fleet by winning the opening female freestyle event of the year in convincing fashion.
Congratulations also to Tonky and his 3rd place, Kiri (4th) and Anthony (7th).
Tonky Frans landed huge air funnel burners and monstrous skopus to name just a couple.

With the PWA Canaries events done and dusted lets move on to the next big news. The Olympics. Yesterday was practice race day, where our hopefuls Nick Dempsey and Bryony Shaw got off to a good start. In particular Nick who managed to take the win, here is what he had to say – “It was the first proper race against everybody and it was nice to win that, it was really close between Dorian (Dutch representative) and I, and it was really great to see that I was faster than the rest of the fleet, this bodes well for the rest of the week.\’ Read more about it here.
Whilst we are on news of Nick Dempsey, word on the street is that he will have a little try at kitesurfing to see if he can be competitive in it. Read all about the decision here.
Our last topic for the Olympics – If you fancy following it then be sure to head over to our sister site, Boards.co.uk, where Amy Carter is reporting live from Weymouth Beach and the press boat.
Now for our dose of wave action, here is a great clip of the Moreno twins by their board sponsor, Starboard. Also including the rest of the team it shows awesome action from two amazing events.
Another little snippet of news comes from the Tricktionary team, who have released their Trictionary App. It looks like a must have for any budding wave/freestyle windsurfer so check it out here.
Now for something a little different. If you enjoyed the Art of Flight you might just find this also tickles your fancy…
