Good morning all. So our round up from yesterday\’s Olympic action begins with the mens fleet. Dempsey\’s efforts saw him clock another bullet to show that he has what it takes to lead the fleet, however his earlier result meant they he just slipped back to 4th overall, but with 2nd, 3rd and 4th place all within three points, it is still all to play for as they go into today\’s rest day. Bryony continues to clock consistant results to remain in the top 10, but she has certainly shown a number of times she has what it takes to be up in the podium positions. With plenty more races to go there is still no certainty as to who will take the medal places, however Dutchman Dorian is certainly showing that he means business here and is certainly one to keep an eye on. Mens results here and womens here.
Arguably the finest windsurfing movie producer, Andre Paskowski has been in touch to let us know of another rough cut he has put together from the excess footage shot during the making of the Minds Wide Open movie. All taken at Little Hookipa in Cabo Verde, it shows guys like Campello and Seadi going for, and landing, goiters and backloops off the lip in side off down-the-line conditions. We really only have positive things to say about the movie, so if you fancy a copy of the full feature, which we strongly recommend then head over to mindswideopenmovie.com. For now enjoy this outstanding action…
Over on the Starboard/Tushingham scene, the guys at Starboard International have put together this (below) Tiki documentary of the 2012 Freestyle Flare, featuring Kiri Thode and Taty Frans. Usually a fairly humble and shy character it\’s great to see and hear a bit more from one of the most impressive freestylers on this planet, as well as plenty of outstanding action. Meanwhile back in the UK, the Tushingham team have interviewed 2x World Champion Sam Sills about his career so far.
Fanatic/North chic, Eva Oude Ophius has shown that girls are also stepping up the level in the waves and after pushing herself hard in the recent Canaries competition, she finally managed to make it back on to the water for a quick session before heading home and stuck this neat pushloop. Great stuff from the girls.
