Not such a good day for Bryony Shaw in the lighter conditions, but Nick Dempsey makes good with two bullets. Bryony explains:
” I didn\’t have such a good day today (Sunday 11/06/06), I\’m in second place with Toni Frey. I got a sixth and a seventh. I\’m not really happy with the seventh as I should have made it a third. Toni Frey got a 1st and 6th. The first race today was marginal and the second was planing. The wind did a massive 180 degree shift. Usually they would have abandoned the race, but because it was so near to the finish they didn\’t, I\’m pretty glad about that since I had been pumping for 40 mins.”
The racing was held in the bay once again where it is the hardest work. Formula star Steve Allen is still hanging in the top 5 despite scoring a 29th in the light race. Should it get windy, eyes will be on his performance. The UK\’s Christine Johnstone posted a first place in the 4th race pulling her right up the rankings, despite scoring an OCS in the third race. Nick Dempsey now leads the mens regatta, with Bryony Shaw tying for second with Toni Frey in the womens. Olga Maslivets of the Ukraine is leading.
