UKWA Eastern Cup - Clacton

00:00 17th July 2006 by Boardseeker

It was another victory from Keith Atkinson in the Formula Fleet. On a weekend when the East Coast of the country was forecast to get some 30 knot winds, it was important to get as much racing in on the Saturday before the Sunday onslaught, which was more suitable for 4.2’s and a wave board.

Keith Atkinson continued his winning ways by taking 5 wins out of the 7 races, Alan Jackson winning the other two. There were good performances also from Dan Simpson in 4th place, once again winning the youths and Richard Jones in 3rd place.

The Sunday only saw one race completed due to the strong winds (strange you might think, but try holding down a 8.5 in 30knots!)

Keith, ranked 4th in the world, is now looking well set to pick up his second Formula Windsurfing British title.
