If you want to see how to run an event, then let Andy Groom show you.. Cape Verde might have shown us the best wave riding that the PWA has seen for a long time, but if it is a BIG event you want then they get no bigger than TIREE. The past 5 years the small island has served up some legendary events for the UK circuit. These events are the full package, not just a competition, but a complete windsurfing mission, a bit like going on holiday with 60 of your best mates and having some amazing conditions and stories to keep you talking for years…
With big sponsors including Corona impressed, the next step was too take over the world, or the world tour to be precise.
The rumours are true and the PWA will be on UK shores from the 6 – 13th October, the UK event to follow.
With a week to run the competition and loads of different beaches to choose from, only the best allrounder will win. It will also be a chance for some of the best UK sailors to get a chance to mix it up with the pro\’s. Look out for last years winner and runner up Jamie Hancock and Andy King.. There are many further changes about and apparently the deal is for 3 years so our word of advice to the southern hemisphere pro\’s is too get a thick wetsuit. You will need it!!
