PKRA Round 4 Day 2

So with all the top riders out of the contest early it was an unusual set up for the podium.  Two dominicans riding hard were after the top spot plus Mallory Delavillemarque (North) and Alvaro Onieva (Best).  By far the most exciting heat of the day was the men\’s final…   as you would hope.  Ariel Corniel (EH Kiteboarding) was on a mission,  He was busting some enormous moves.  Alvaro Onieva was still on a roll from his incredible performance from yesterday, but he didn\’t have quite the same consistancy as Corniel.  Corniel landed two different double handle passes (front mobe 7 and a double flat 3.), slim chance to wrapped, double back loop kite loop handle pass, and more.  Alvaro was fighting landing some different powered passes on his bad tac plus a hige F16 with a handle pass and went for what could quite possibly be the biggest wipeout I\’ve ever witnessed, but was ,meant to be a s bend with a flat 3.  He hit a kicker right up close to the beach at full speed and span like a nutter.  He made the pass but came into land on his face a full speed from a great height.  He recovered well, but it wasn\’t quite enough to take down the dominican rider!!!  In the losers final Mallory was not on form.  He dropped his kite on a front mobe 5 and it wrapped inside itself so that he could not relaunch.  He immediately swapped for a bigger kite, but then in harsh deals of deals went for a back mobe where the leash wrapped around the end of the bar sending it into a psycho collection of spins leaving him far to far downwind to make a come back.  Soto on the other hand kept it real for the dominicans landing flat 3\’s, down loop slim and a bunch more handle passes that were too hard for me to keep up with!

For the girls Carolina Winkowski from Naish just couldn\’t settle with the choppy conditions and didn\’t land any of her normal high standard of moves.  Angela Peral (North) pulled of a number of railey to blinds, down loop to blind plus something to wrapped.  Angela took 3rd place.  The ladies final was more of the girls finding it difficult to literally find their feet with the moves.  Gizella pulled off a good front mobe and a blind judge to beach plant while Bruna returned the fight with a s bend pass, blind judge and an s bend.

Overall the results:

1st Ariel Corniel (EH Kiteboarding)

2nd Alvaro Onieva (Best)
