Well the event in Germany has been running for a number of days now. Its a 10 day long stint and one of the biggest events of the PKRA year in terms of visitor numbers. The location is one of europes biggest beaches called St Peters Ording on the North West Coast. At this time of year they recevie beautiful weather, but not always wind. Since the beginning of the event they have had one day of light wind where they carried out 3 races, but no freestyle plus one day of strong wind for 7m kites where they ran the entire single elimination for freestyle. Now they are basked with glorious sunshine and again waiting for wind to complete more races and finish the double elimination in the freestyle.
For the UK Steph Bridge has now taken the lead for the course racing world champion title after taking a 2nd place in the rankings so far for Germany… although the races are not complete so this is not an official result. Angela Peral who was her close contender is currently in 4th for this event. Both riders have had 1 fist place and one second place in the two previous events so it really is neck on neck.
In the freestyle its just Aaron Hadlow (Flexifoil) representing the UK this time round. Aaron came a fantastic 2nd place in the single eliminations, but this rider is in it to win it and will not be resting easy at this knowledge. Aaron will be checking the trees outside his window first thing every morning strongly hoping that the wind blows.
Keep you fingers crossed for these high flying Brits. They really are proving the UK proud!!!
Kevin Langeree from Naish and Gizella Pulido From Slingshot both currently hold first place for PKRA Round 7 – Germany
