Epic Forecast for Tiree Wave Classic

Tiree is going off at the moment, and actually has been for a long while. The forecast is looking amazing for the Tiree Triple Crown so hopefully it will stay that way. This year the Island is jam packed with visitors competing or just there for the ride. There is a full program of events lined up covering all types of outdoor activities, but we have a feeling that windsurfing may take precendence this year.

The windsurfing itself is going to cram Waves, Super X and Freestyle into the week. The event is open and has attracted Jonas Ceballos from the Canary Islands, who is renowned for his gravity defying 50ft+ jumps. With the winds and swell expected we can expect to see him at his best. The UK boy\’s including John Skye, Andy King, Chris Audsley, Ben Proffit, Phil Horrocks and James Cox, will be revelling the challenge. Also competing will be Klaus Voget from Germany to add to the international class of the event.

Registration is on Saturday and is likely to be followed by a huge enmasse sailing session as last year, with the the competition starting on the Sunday.

The social side of Tiree is as legendry as the windsurfing, as spaces on the island are literally limited, we will be keeping you up to date daily right here.
