The organisers of the Red Bull Storm Chase have announced that as of October 7th they are back on hold, waiting for the final instalment of this incredible competition.
Who do you think will triumph in the final chase? We have to say it’s hard to bet against Thomas Traversa after his astonishing performances at the previous two competitions; but where could the third round be? More details from the RBSC organisers…
The stand-by period for Mission #3 had been put on hold on September 11 for a short intermission due to the PWA wave events on Klitmøller and Sylt.
As of today, standby for the next Red Bull Storm Chase mission is resumed, opening the window for a “Go” for the third and final round of the competition from now on until the end of the year.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE COMPETITION BE FOR MISSION #3?
Only Mother Nature knows where Mission #3 will visit. The remaining locations are East Coast USA (Hatteras), Iceland, Japan, Galicia (Spain) and Brittany (France).
Daylight hours and minimum temperatures could be an issue as the year progresses in Iceland and the Japanese storm season is likely to tail-off from September onwards.
The northern hemisphere autumn however leaves mouth-watering possibilities as Hurricane season hits full-swing, often sending massive low-pressure systems that could light up the Atlantic Ocean spots.
One thing is for sure: As soon as a suitable storm is likely to hit one of the five remaining destinations, the crew and athletes will be ready to strike again within 48-hrs notice…
