A little off the beaten track, Korbi Obermeyer decided to head to Costa Rica for his winter training. Having competed on the EFPT in Sigri last year, Korbi decided to focus his time purely on training freestyle windsurfing. After two solid months it looks like the hours have been paying off, over to Korbi for more.
“This is a short clip of my 2 month Trip to Costa Rica. All nature footage was filmed by my small nikon aw 100 and their colours are original and unedited. We found this blue river, called rio celeste, in the middle of the Volcanic Tenorio Park. The river’s colour is the result of the chemical mixture of sulphur and carbonate, which originate in the nearby Tenorio Volcano. It was windy almost the whole 9 weeks for 4.0 and 4.6 with a realy comfortable climate. There is a nice windsurf center, called Ticowind surrounded by rainforests at lake Arenal and a small but really friendly windsurf community. I would like to say thank you to everybody, who lives there or visited this wonderful place, for the good time!
Beside Windsurfing there are also a lots of other great things to do; surfing at the coast, hiking through various national parks with an amazing nature, rafting and more.”
