Without further ado, we announce the winners of the 2006 Boardseeker Awards.

He has already won a PWA Indoor event and In the waves, we have little doubt that 17 year old Brazilian, Marcilio Browne is a future world champion.

There is a lot of hype about all these new Hawaiian wonderkids etc. But what people forget is that Marcilio is actually only a couple of years older... but more than twice as good!!  Those kids have got a lot of catching up to do!

In freestyle the World Champion is a teenager! Seventeen year old Jose ‘Gollito’ Estredo had only one event this year to showcase his talents but that was enough.  It will take a lot to beat him next year!

In the world of racing, we have Julien Quentel.  Ok he isn't technically a tenager, having just turned 20, but he is so damn good that there really is no other choice.

Julien is Antoine Albeau's training partner, won the Youth Formula World's and European's in 2005 and has had a cracking 2006 season finishing 14th overall in the Formula Rankings and 31st on the PWA Slalom 42 Tour.  He's also pretty handy in waves......

Having been at nearly every major competition this year and at countless other windy beaches across the world, we know which sailors are the ones to film. These guys will guarantee you the biggest jumps, the craziest moves and the scariest wipeouts.

European Sailor: Victor Fernandez

British Sailor: Phil Horrocks
Rest of the World: Boujamma Guilloul
Ladies Sailor: Daida Moreno

Well we had a few classics this year from Nik Baker’s superman wipeout on the indoor jump ramp to Robby Swift’s out of control Pozo double which landed him a broken foot. But the clear winner for 2006 is UK Sailor Steve Thorpe and his speed crash at this year’s ISA event in Fuerte. “The beach, Steve, the beach!!”

Robby Swift for breaking his foot AGAIN in his 2nd contest since his first injury. Robby will be the first to admit that maybe he didn’t give it enough time to heal, and maybe going for a huge double in Pozo nuclear winds wasn’t the best idea, but it’s still darn unlucky and totally ruined his competition season. Better luck for 2007 Robby!

It doesn’t get more cringe-worthy than Martin Francis’ pushloop crash at Rhosneigr in May. His screams could be heard throughout Wales as his femur broke in two, busting a few arteries leading to several blood transfusions and a long hospital stay. However, he is doing well now and should be on the water before the year end.

There are certainly many contenders for this crown in 2006. But it has to go to Ricardo Campello who got into all sorts of trouble at PWA events. During Pozo, he sailed across the start line of the slalom fleet, was duly fined, refused to pay and then did it again! In Fuerte he was bored on a windless day, and decided to take the PWA rescue jet bike off for a spin despite being told he couldn’t. The PWA and the lifeguards were furious and he was fined again but refused to apologise until he was told he would be thrown out of the PWA! You’re a naughty boy Ricardo but we love you for it!!

As chosen by our readers, the winning 2006 design goes to Angulo Boards.

F2 for allowing customers to choose their own graphics on their production Guerilla Wave board through www.cyb-f2.com

Very useful bit of kit this, especially for those of us renting cars abroad on our windsurfing holidays. To win a Handirack and nine other presents go to the Boardseeker Christmas Hamper Competition.

The book of the year has to be Tricktionary: very glossy, very colourful, very useful. To win this book and nine other presents go to the Boardseeker Christmas Hamper Competition.

Without a doubt, the Brabus Viano V8 (if you have a spare 200,000 euros!)

In the heat of the summer, we asked people to vote for the Best Babe so far. Our readers duly responded and voted Pro windsurfer Emma Johansson their favourite....not a bad choice at all!

  10th position

What: Super X Photo finish
Sailors: Matt & Kevin Pritchard
Where: Costa Brava

No love lost between these pair as Kevin edges past Matt to win the race and ruin Matt's chances of winning the overall Super X Crown. Little brothers can be so annoying!!

  9th position

What: Indoor double
Sailors: Yannick Anton
Where: London Boat Show

It takes a brave man to go for a double loop, it takes an even braver man to do one off an indoor jump ramp. But with Timo Mullen 'eggin him on, Yannick simply had no choice!

  8th position

What: Antoine winning 11 out of 12 racers in Pozo
Sailors: Antoine Albeau
Where: Pozo, Gran Canaria

He looks like he's just cruising in this clip and in Pozo this summer he was, winning races even after getting knocked in at gybe marks. The guy just flew.

What: High air flaka
Sailors: Tonky Frans
Where:

Sotavento, Fuerteventura

This move is just so cool. It looks like his board is made of sponge as he gently lands back down to sea. Tonky has a style all of his own and hence we have featured him twice in this prestigious top 10!

  6th position

What: Clean & effortless doubles
Sailors: Victor Fernandez, Kauli Seadi, Ricardo Campello
Where:

Pozo, Gran Canaria

Doubles are quite the norm in a PWA wave heat, but not many land them cleanly. These three, however, have got them sussed particularly Ricardo who has the audacity to do them on the way in!

What: Tweaked table top
Sailors: Boujamma Guilloul
Where:

Morocco

This is Boujamma's trade mark move and it is nice to see an old classic being re-worked by the next generation of super stars.

What: Triple flaka (?)
Sailors: Tonky Frans
Where:

Bonaire, Caribbean

Here he is again!  A triple flaka into gecko.... Whatever you want to call it, it's a classy move.

  3rd position

What: Enormous Backloops
Sailors: Xavier Huart & Regis Bouron
Where:

Sunset Beach, Cape Town

The winter training ground of Cape Town provides Pros with lots of wind and plenty of swell. However, these two stand out from them all, managing to get twice the height of any other sailors out there.

  2nd position

What:
Jammy shaka
Sailors: Kauli Seadi
Where:

Pozo, Gran Canaria

A little bit of fluke, a lot of technique and a dash of talent thrown in. You are unlikely to see one as clean as this again for a long time!

  1st position

What: Enormous Jaws
Sailors: Robby Naish
Where:

Maui

The best action clip of 2006 just had to go to the biggest wave and the best known windsurfer on the planet. Enough said.
